Brian graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor's degree in Accounting. He spent 20 years in public accounting in Cedar Rapids performing audits and taxation work for agricultural cooperatives before moving to Grinnell in 2016. Brian specializes in estates and trusts, but also prepares individual and corporate tax returns. He attained his CPA in 1998 and belongs to the Iowa Society and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
